NCT Statement on ‘From Bump to Breastfeeding’ DVD

Released on 05/11/2008

Press Statement

Best Beginnings, in partnership with the Department of Health, has introduced a new breastfeeding dvd to support health professionals and mothers.

The dvd will be distributed free to every pregnant woman in the UK for at least the next year.

Patricia Wise, NCT Breastfeeding Tutor and Best Beginnings Stakeholder Group Member, says:

“NCT welcomes the release of From Bump to Breastfeeding from Best Beginnings. Over the past fifty years NCT workers have encouraged and supported women to breastfeed their babies and the new dvd is an exciting development.

NCT classes offer specialist breastfeeding guidance. Parents-to-be and parents can also contact the NCT breastfeeding helpline on 0300 330 0771.

Breastfeeding is a source of comfort as well as providing appropriate nutrients for babies, in the appropriate quantities and helps protect them from infection and diseases.”
