Get involved

Without the time and enthusiasm of our members, the NCT would be unable to provide the range of services and outreach work that we offer across the UK. If you found the NCT helpful, why not get involved in helping us to reach more parents and make a difference in your area.

We've got lots of exciting opportunities for you to get involved in our work - from running a local Bumps and Babies group or editing your branch's newsletter to helping our campaigns team give parents a voice at a national level.

I started volunteering for the NCT after attending Bumps and Babes with my newborn daughter. Over the next few years I did a number of roles including Secretery, Area Rep, Under Fives Guide Editor and then Chair for just over two years. Now that the children are older I’m less involved than I was, but I have organised the last five Nearly New Sales for the branch, which is a great way of meeting old and new friends and supporting the NCT without the year-round commitment that some other roles require. We have now moved out of the Godalming area but I’ve just found out I’m expecting again so who knows what’s next!

Liz Hart, ex-Godalming branch manager

Our volunteers run our network of branches and will always be able to help you find a role that suits you - no matter how big or small, your time and help is always appreciated.

Try something new

Becoming a parent is often a time when people take stock of their lives or decide to try something new - why not use your new skills as a parent to become a specialist worker for the NCT and help us to provide support for even more mums and dads across the UK.Every year, hundreds of parents help us to raise money for helplines, outreach work and training through sponsored runs, fun family events and NCT Nearly New Sales - see our fundraising section to find out more.
